Weight Watchers - Week 9 (and a kitchen remodel update).

I had another good week on Weight Watchers. Since yesterday was my actual weigh in day and it was a holiday, I didn't do a fancy post. I lost 1.4 pounds, which doesn't really seem like much, but it is still a loss. And considering I ate a lot of crap last week, I am thrilled with that number. So with that number added in, I have lost 35.8 pounds since starting WW in August. I am less than 20 pounds away from my goal weight, and I am getting excited. I have 19.2 pounds left. That's all!

The jeans I have been wearing for the past couple of months are starting to get way too loose. The jeans I wore when I got married fit perfectly. And yesterday, for the first time in a LONG time, I wore shorts. I have terrible insecurities when it comes to by legs - my thighs most specifically, so I was concerned with wearing them. But after I tried them on and realized they looked okay, I was more than willing to wear them. I mean, it was 90 degrees yesterday. Too hot for my usual capris. I am glad that I'm getting more comfortable with my body.

And in other news, my kitchen redecoration is FINALLY done. I started last Thursday when I was tired of the blah feeling in there. The walls were a boring shade (that I can't even explain, it was weird) and the sunflower border had to go. So I peeled off the paper, and scraped off the glue and got ready to paint. I chose a light blue shade because I wanted to brighten up the room.

Light Rain - Valspar

So the light rain paint is on 3 of the walls, and I painted the other white, just for some variety. I took the knobs off the drawers and cabinets and spray painted them silver (instead of gold). Josh replaced the outlets and their covers and hung up a coat hook for me. I added some red accents to compliment the wall color, and that is that! Yesterday was the first day that a lot of sunlight came in the kitchen, and it looked much bigger (and better) in there than it ever had. I am very happy with the turn out!

Weight Watchers - Week 8.

Seeing this on my computer screen this morning is exactly what I needed. After last week's weigh in, I was feeling pretty discouraged. I wanted to give up. But I didn't. I kept up with my exercising (more on that in a minute) and switched up my points to try to get out of the rut I was in. I would say it worked, and I am very happy with the results. I weigh less now than I did when I got married 3.5 years ago. Yes! My pants are starting to fit a little looser and I can tell this plan is working because my face is getting skinnier. I almost don't recognize myself some days. I only have 4 weeks left with this turn on Weight Watchers, and I hope that I will lose another 8 pounds in that time. As of right now, I have lost 34.4 pounds, with 20.6 left to go. It feels SO good to be more than half way to my goal. I'm sure I will sign up for another 3 month run when this one runs out, and should be completely done with my weight loss and be maintaining my weight at that point. How exciting!

Anyways, about the exercise. It is official - I am not a runner. Josh and I made it through 2 weeks of the C25k program before my legs started freaking out. My shins felt like they had been sent through a meat grinder, but I pushed through it in hopes that the pain would go away. Well, it didn't. So after we finished week 3 on Thursday, we decided we would find a new way to get our exercise in. Well, a couple of years ago, we bought a trailer to hook onto the back of my bike to pull Cameron around. Yesterday, we got the bikes and trailer down, pumped up all the tires, and headed out for a mile ride to McDonald's for lunch. By the time we got home, we had ridden 3 miles and my legs were on fire. Hauling 55 pounds of kids behind your bike - UP HILLS - was a challenge. I think I was sweatier doing that than I was while I was 'running'. I look forward to keeping it up!

Things I Love Tuesday.

This website is a lot of fun. But awfully dangerous. I have gotten a lot of good ideas for my house and clothes from here so far. It is going to bankrupt me!

2. OPI Shatter Nail Polish

I bought these shades over the weekend, and I love how they look together. Of course, I took a picture to share with the class!

Yes, I know, it's not a great picture, but you get the idea. And please forgive the kids' mess in the background.

3. Philosophy Purity Face Wash
My face is a hot mess, so I decided to try some new face wash. This stuff is great! I don't have to use a ton of moisturizer anymore, and my skin is really soft. Love it.

4. Nars Blush
in Orgasm
Another pricey purchase, but this blush is awesome.

5. Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet Lip Shine

Super sticky and shiny lipgloss. Love it.

Weight Watchers - Week 7.

Well, this week is not as exciting as last week. I stepped on the scale this morning and found that I lost .2 pounds. Yes, it is better than nothing, and much better than gaining, but I am very hard on myself and would have liked to have seen at least a pound gone.

I know what you're thinking. "Why don't you just stick to your diet plan?" I am! I have used just about all my daily target points PLUS a few of the weekly allowance. Then what is the problem? Well, my friends, we (my hubby and I) think it's the c25k. My body is not used to any type of exercise, at all. The last time I ran was in high school gym class. So our understanding is that my body is converting fat into muscle and we all know muscle weighs more than fat, so there you have it. I am expecting a plateau for a couple of weeks before things get going again.

I wish I wasn't here, waiting for a 2 pound drop, but I am. At this point, I am still 23.5 pounds away from my goal weight, which sucks, but the good part about it all is that I have lost a total of 31.5 pounds since August that are never coming back.

That, my friends, is success.

Weight Watchers - Week 6.

Awesome.
Another 1.6 pounds gone forever. Yes! I passed another ten pound mark, so my allowed meal points have gone from 31 to 30. That shouldn't be a problem, seeing that I struggle to eat all my points every day anyway. I admit that I am a little disappointed with that number. I have been working my butt off with the dieting and C25k, and hoped that I would be over the 2 pound mark today. I will get over it, though. 1.6 is still a great number.

See you with another weight update next Monday!

Spring is here!

I can't tell you how much I love this nest. It is right outside our back door, and every day I check to see if the mama laid anymore eggs. Since I took this picture, she has laid one more. I am going to have to get out there with my camera before they hatch. The mama bird gets a little angry - every time we open the back door, she flies away. I try to make it a point to use the front door more often now that they're out there.

Weight Watchers Update.

I have officially reached week 5 (or 39, if you're counting from the beginning of my weight loss journey). Here's how the weigh in went this morning:

As you can tell, they are a little worried about the 5 pound drop in one week, but I can assure you that it probably won't happen again. On the weeks I get lazy, I switch back from Diet Coke/Pepsi to regular Coke and other sugary drinks, so when I am back on track, I cut back on the sugar by at least 90%. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the 5 pound drop. That, and not eating the Easter candy I wanted so badly from last weekend.

Another new thing this week is my C25k journey. (Look it up here if you're interested). Josh suggested I try this to help my efforts to fit back into my skinny jeans. I was not looking forward to it, at all. I absolutely hate running, and it stems back to middle and high school gym class. Running the mile for a grade? Ridiculous! It took me at least 15 minutes each time I had to run it, and probably got a terrible grade in the class to show for it. On Saturday afternoon, we loaded the kids up in the most inconvenient stroller to use while jogging and headed out to try day 1. A brisk 5 minute walk? No problem. Then comes the jogging. 60 seconds. I am telling myself "you can do this. You can do this." And when the headphones in my ear beep telling me it's time to walk, I am thrilled. For 90 seconds, until it's time to jog again. Needless to say, by the time we finished day 1, I was exhausted. And I am embarrassed. I am 25 years old and horribly out of shape.

Yesterday afternoon, I decided I was going to go for another walk/jog. I did about 2/3 of what I did on Saturday and I am paying for it today. My legs are so sore. The abs that are somewhere lost in my stomach are aching. And my shoulders are feeling a bit worn out as well. This is great though. I am hoping that by the time the 9 weeks are over, my beloved Silver jeans from 2006 will fit me again. Help me out, C25k!
