C-Day.

Well, it's kind of like D-Day.

Josh and I went to the OB yesterday to FINALLY meet with the doctor who will be doing my repeat c-section. After rescheduling the appointment, waiting 30 minutes in the waiting room, and 20 minutes in the exam room, we finally got to talk to her. She says she doesn't do repeat c-sections until at least 39 weeks. I assume they only do them on the weekdays, so it looks like Hannah will be born sometime between July 12th and the 16th. That is, unless, I go into labor on my own. If she decides she's ready early, she will be born on the day she chooses.

I am so excited to have some kind of time frame. We are ready to meet little girl!!

27 weeks!!

How far along? 27 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: I didn't ask last time I was at the OB, but I assume it's around 8 or 9 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Always maternity jeans, sometimes maternity shirts. I would say I am wearing something of the maternity variety about 95% of the time.

Sleep: I can't complain too much. I sleep comfortably, but my bladder must not have gotten the memo. I get up at least twice a night to go to the bathroom.

Best moment this week:
We bought a mattress for her crib, and a bedding set. Josh's mom and I went out today and got a few more things for her bed (blankets, receiving blankets, and a stuffed animal that matches her bedding).

Food cravings:
Taco Bell nachos. I could eat those 24/7/365.

Gender:
Girl

Movement:
Has definitely increased. She moves around all the time. I don't feel too many kicks, more rolls. She has a hard time getting comfortable!

What I am looking forward to:
The meeting next week with the OB that will do my repeat c-section. I am excited to learn when we will meet little Hannah!

What I miss:
Fuzzy navels and sleeping on my stomach. Sigh.

Playing catch up.

It has been a long time since I have updated.

Let's rewind back to March 3rd, the day of our big ultrasound. Josh's mom met us at the hospital, and they took turns juggling Cameron while I was having the ultrasound. The tech wasted no time, and went right to work looking at the screen. Less than 5 minutes into the ultrasound, she said "well, this is a little girl." I couldn't believe it. In case you didn't know, Heysteks don't normally make girls. Out of the 9 cousins on his dad's side, there are 2 girls. I expected the tech to tell us we were having another little boy, which wouldn't have mattered to me. I love having a little boy, and now we get to experience life with a little girl.

Fast forward to Easter weekend. Josh and I picked up the paint and got right down to it on Friday night. We painted half the nursery that night, and went to bed. The next morning, I was up bright and early - back to work! We finished the pink paint and moved on to the green. After 2 trips to Lowe's and about 8 hours of painting, we were done with the walls. I quickly got to work taping the walls and the floor, ready to tackle the most difficult task. The previous owners of this house had installed dark brown trim in the bedroom, which I wanted painted white. After at least 4 coats of white paint, the trim was finally done.

On Easter, Cameron spent the night with his Grandma and Grandpa, so Josh and I came home and put together furniture. After much struggle, and re-doing the dresser, I am proud to say that all of her furniture is put together!

This is the bedroom before we moved in. After we moved in, Josh's brother stayed in the room and took down the wire shelving. Besides that, that is what we started with.

This is the view from the hallway now. The room still needs a mattress for the crib, a bedding set, some wall decorations, and of course - a baby, but besides that, it is done.

Immediately after the ultrasound, Josh was on the phone with his dad, and had told him a name. He picked it all by himself, and is very proud of it. Drum roll please...

That's right, her name will be Hannah Heystek. I love the name.

Okay, new topic. Cameron finally learned how to walk! He took his first real steps on March 7th, and about a week after that, he took off. He has gotten faster and faster since then, and it is becoming hard to keep up with him! He will be 18 months old next week (cry), so look forward to a post about that. I can't believe how fast he's growing up!

I leave you with a picture of him doing his new favorite thing, playing with his sister's shoes.

is it spring yet?

I forgot how completely depressing winter is. I hate looking outside and seeing gray skies. The snow is pretty until it's piled a foot high and makes it impossible to get your stupid tiny car out of the driveway. The air is frigid and makes you want to stay home. Blah. I am so excited for spring to finally come. Cameron can actually go outside and play this year, rather than rolling around on a blanket. We hope we can get him to walk before the spring comes so he can have fun. He has been taking a couple steps here and there, but no full on walking yet. We don't to rush him, but we are ready for a completely mobile toddler.

The big ultrasound is still about 3 weeks away. Time is just dragging. The good news is that I am finally starting to feel a little bit better. I still have problems every once in awhile with the nausea and the food aversions, but besides that, things are starting to look up.

Our house has been hit with the cold bug. Josh started to feel sick on Sunday morning, then Cameron started having a runny nose on Tuesday, and I have been having a sore throat and on and off stuffy/runny nose for the past few days. I hate it.

Hopefully soon the weather will get better and my posts won't be so depressing! Blahhh.

big boy bedding

Josh, Cameron and I were shopping at Target over the weekend, and I fell in love with this bedding for Cameron's toddler bed. He is not quite ready yet, so I washed it all and put it on his crib. He thinks it's pretty cool that he has a pillow in his crib now, but he won't use it while he sleeps. He isn't too sure about the sheet and comforter either. I always tuck him in at night under his sheets, but when we go up to get him in the morning, he is on top of the comforter cuddled up with at least 3 different stuffed animals.

Here is the bedding. It is called "Robots" by Circo. It was $29.99 for a fitted sheet, a loose sheet, a pillow case and the comforter. He will probably be using it until he's 3 years old, so not too bad.

starting over.

I was pretty bored with my old blog, so I gave it a makeover and will start again. Things have changed a lot around here. Cameron is 15 months old now. He still doesn't walk, but he is close! He stands up by himself and cruises along furniture. He will be walking before we know it.

We found out in November that baby #2 is on the way. S/he will be here in the middle of July. We are so excited to have a little tiny baby in the house again. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday where we learned that our big ultrasound will be on March 3rd. I am (im)patiently waiting for that day to come. For now, I will just be anticipating the first little movements and kicks. That is my favorite part.

Well, that is all for now. Hopefully this time I can keep up with blogging. :)
